The designs of the Illumination-i Nur Gondol are stylized inspired by the illumination ornaments of Şahname-i Firdevs *, which is exhibited in the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, prepared in the name of Sultan Ali Mirza, one of the Timurid Shah of Gilan. The Persian work dated between 1475-1500 was written by Firdevsi Mahlaslı Ebul’l Kasım. The Şahname has been prepared in two volumes including various miniatures.
The Illumination-i Nur Gondola is made of handmade glass and all the relief patterns on it are handcrafted and decorated using 24 carat gold gilding and glass paints.
