Three plates and an inscription in the Süleymaniye Mosque are decorated on the Süleymaniye Bowl. On the first plate, the 41st verse of Surah Fatir is written in jeli thuluth style. On the second and third plates, the first and second parts of Surat al-Fatiha are included.
The names of Ottoman sultans from Osman Gazi to Kanuni are written in a series in the inscription on the mouth of the mosque, which is used as a border on the bowl. In its harmonious appearance, the special arrangement of the letters and the repetition of the phrase “bin es-sultan” plays a big role.
The Süleymaniye Bowl is made of hand-made glass and all the relief patterns on it are handcrafted and decorated using 24 carat gold.
Its production is limited to 2,000 pieces.
