Milet Agora (Pazaryeri) Gate, one of the most important examples of Roman architecture in Anatolia, was one of the most important points of the city of Miletus (Miletos). This city, which became enriched as a result of being an important trade center where commodities were exchanged between Europe, North Africa, Aegean Islands, Cyprus and Asia in Antiquity, became very strong militarily thanks to its strong navy. Depending on this environment of abundance, philosophy developed along with science, and the most important philosophers of the period such as Thales and Pythagoras were nourished from this city.
