The peony flower and leaf motifs on the Medallion Vase are inspired by an ancient glass vase of Syrian or Egyptian origin dating to the early 14th century. Although the antique vase, one of the rare examples of Mamluk period glasses, was produced as a mosque lamp, it was not used as a lamp due to the opening of its mouths similar to Chinese vases.
The Medallion Vase is made of hand made glass and all the relief patterns created with the embossed paint technique on it are handcrafted with 24 carat gold gilding. Handmade glass vase with gilded flower and leaf pattern.
Its production is limited to 500 pieces.
