The designs of the Illumination-i Nur Vase were inspired by the illumination decorations of Åžahname-i Firdevs *, which is on display at the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, prepared in the name of Sultan Ali Mirza, one of the Timurid Shah of Gilan. This Persian work, dated between 1475-1500, was written by Firdevsi Mahlaslı Ebul’l Kasım. The Åžahname has been prepared in two volumes including various miniatures.
The Illumination-i Nur Vase is made of handmade glass and all the relief patterns on it are handcrafted and decorated using 24 carat gold gilding and glass paints.
