Süleymaniye Mosque, a magnificent structure in the silhouette of Istanbul, was built by Mimar Sinan between 1550-1557 by Süleyman the Magnificent. The main dome with a diameter of 26.5 meters is supported by two semi-domes and enlarged with half-two exedras. The side naves of the mosque have created a different effect by covering them with five domes, one big and one small. The 53-meter-high main dome creates a mystical spaciousness and spaciousness effect in the space. The mosque was illuminated with 128 windows and dozens of oil lamps, and a business room was built above the entrance so that the smoke coming out of these lamps does not contaminate the walls and can also be used in ink production.
It is thought that the dome line of the Süleymaniye Mosque was written by Ahmet Karahisari (1469? -1556) according to some sources, and by Ahmet Karahisari and his student Hasan Çelebi according to some sources. Calligraphy in the mosque includes verses taken from the Quran and texts selected from hadiths. The purpose of writing these texts is to give messages to people with the help of calligraphy and to direct people to think with these messages.
The patterns on the Cevher Sugar Bowl are inspired by the patterns and dome lines found in the Süleymaniye Mosque. In the writings on the sugar bowl, the verses were written by stacking.
